Speaking for a Sustainable Future – Global Junior Marine English Camp

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the common goals for humanity declared by the United Nations. Among them, one of the most urgent goals is SDG 14: Life Below Water.

Covering 70% of our blue planet, the ocean is home to countless living beings and is directly tied to the future of humankind. However, today the ocean faces severe threats from climate change, pollution, and overfishing.

The 2025 UN SDGs Blue Guardians(Global Junior Marine English Camp) is a place where children and youth can learn about these challenges at their level, express their thoughts in English, and grow as agents of change.

<Role and Responsibility of Facilitator>

▶ Designing and Leading Activities : Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities that help participants understand SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and marine environmental issues in an immersive and accessible way.  

▶ Encouraging English Communication :  Support students in expressing their thoughts in English throughout the program.

▶ Team Project Mentoring : Guide teams in their projects, helping them research endangered marine species, develop creative campaign materials (posters, slogans, etc.)

▶ Delivering Global and Multicultural Perspectives :  Share personal insights and diverse global viewpoints to broaden participants’ understanding of environmental issues and global citizenship.

▶ Supporting Program Operations :  Collaborate with staff, other facilitators, and guest speakers to ensure that the program runs smoothly and creates a supportive learning environment for all.

<About the Facilitator Recruitment>

■ Qualifications & Skills:

- Foreign and Domestic Under/Graduate University Students residing in Korea

- Full availability during all scheduled activities

- Interest in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and youth education

- Proficient in English Communication

■ Preferred Qualifications:

- Ability to communicate in Korean

- Experience in planning and running educational programs

- Previous participation in WFUNA Programs

■ Activity Period

- September 27, 2025 to October 25, 2025 (October 26, 2025)

■ Application Schedule

- Application Submission : Until  September 21, 2025

- Document Screening Announcement :  September 23, 2025

- Online Interviews : September 24, 2025

- Final Results Announcement : September 25, 2025

* All results will be announced via e-mail.

* All application documents must be submitted in English.

1) Pre-Training / Offline (Mandatory)

- Date: September 27, 2025 / 1PM - 4PM

- Location: Mizy Center (서울 중구 퇴계로26가길 6 서울유스호스텔 2층)

2) Interim Check / Online (Mandatory)

- Date: TBD

- Location: Online Zoom Meeting

2) Camp Main Event / Offline (Mandatory)

- Date: October 25, 2025 / 10AM - 6PM

- Location: Goyang International Youth Cultural Center (경기도 고양시 일산동구 애니골길 97)

3) Wave Statement Event / Offline (Optional)

- Date:  October 26, 2025 / 1PM - 6PM

- Location: Seoul YMCA (서울특별시 종로구 종로2가 9)

* Participation in this event is optional. 

* Should you wish to take part, you will have the opportunity to serve as a staff member supporting the event operations.
