Global Asia Leadership Forum (GALF)에서 2020학년도 2학기 회원을 모집합니다!

GALF는 동아시아재단 산하의 학생학술교류단체로, “아시아의 관점으로 세계를 바라보다”는 모토 하에 아시아 또는 국제적 정치외교 현안에 대한 발표, 토론, 합동 포럼 등의 여러 활동을 진행하고 있습니다. 한국 내 타 학술단체에 더불어 일본과 중국의 학술 단체들과도 교류하며, 여러 국적의 외국인 학생들과 같이 소통하며 보다 폭넓은 관점과 사고 확립을 지향합니다.

2. 모집 대상:

- 동아시아 관련 외교 및 국제이슈에 관심이 많고 정기적인 세션에 참여할 수 있는 대학(원)생, 교환학생, 외국인 학생 

- 전공, 학번, 나이 무관

3. 활동 기간: 9월~12월, 격주 토요일 오후 1시~4시 (시험기간 제외)

9/12 (토)에 오리엔테이션 진행되고, 9/26 (토)에 첫 정규 세션이 시작됩니다. 그 후 격주 토요일마다 정규 세션 및 오픈 세션이 진행됩니다. 12/26 (토)에 모든 활동이 종료되며 수료식 및 활동증명서가 배부됩니다.

4. 활동 내용:

- Regular session : 아시아의 정치, 경제, 안보 등의 주제로 발제 및 그룹 토의 진행

- Open Session : 국내 저명한 연사들을 초빙하여 강연을 듣고, 아시아 정세를 바라보는 시각을 넓힐 기회 제공

- Field Trip : 코로나19로 인해 추후 공지 예정입니다.

6. 지원 일정:

-지원서 접수: 8/16 (일) 23시 59분까지

-서류 합격자 발표: 8/19(수)

-인터뷰: 대면 면접8/22(토)-8/23(일) / 화상 면접 8/24(월)-8/27(목)

-최종 합격자 발표: 8/28(금)

(코로나로 인해 면접은 대면과 화상으로 진행될 예정이오니 지원서에 희망하는 면접 방식을 체크해 주시기 바랍니다. 면접 대상자분들께는 이메일로 개별 연락 드리겠습니다. 인터뷰는 지원자의 스케줄을 참고해서 이루어질 예정입니다.)

-합격자 오리엔테이션: 9/12(토) *필참*

(OT 날짜가 9/5(토)에서 9/12(토)로 변경되었으니 참고 바랍니다. 8/12 오전 11시 수정)

7. 참가 비용:

모든 GALF 세션은 기본적으로 동아시아재단으로부터 후원 비용으로 운영됩니다!

정규 활동을 제외한 모임에서는 개별적으로 비용 부담을 할 예정입니다.

8. 참고 사항:

-모든 세션은 영어로 진행됩니다.

-활동 수료 시, 활동증명서 및 수료증을 발급해 드립니다.

(모든 세션에 참여한 참가자분들께만 수료증을 발급해 드리며, 조건을 충족하지 못한 참가자분들께는 동아시아재단 정식 도장이 없는 활동증명서만 발급됩니다.)

-출석률이 매우 중요하기에 매 세션에 적극적으로 참여하실 분들을 기다리고 있습니다.

15th Global Asia Leadership Forum (GALF)

- Recruiting members for the 2nd semester of 2020!

1. Introduction

Sponsored by the East Asia Foundation, GALF is a student academic exchange club that organizes biweekly presentations, discussions, or joint forums on Asian or international political and economic affairs under the motto of “Looking at the globe through Asian perspective”. Through participating in GALF, students can widen their perspectives by interacting with other students from different backgrounds.

2. Membership is open to…

Undergraduate/graduate students, exchange students, and international students interested in East Asian diplomatic affairs who are able to attend biweekly regular sessions!

3. Duration: September ~ December, 2020.

Orientation is on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Biweekly regular sessions begin from Saturday, September 26, 2020 (excluding midterm/final exam period). Certificates will be handed out during the closing ceremony on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

4. Activities

- Regular session : Group presentation and discussion on Asia’s political, economic, and security issues

- Open session : Lectures from distinguished speakers and a Q&A session for expert opinions and wider views

- Field trip : Subject to change due to COVID-19.

5. Application Process

6. Selection Process

- Application Form Submission: By 23:59 Sunday, August 16th, 2020

- Interview: In-person (August 22nd-23rd) / Online interview (August 24th-27th)

(Due to COVID-19, interviews can be conducted in-person or online, so please list the available method/time in the application form. Those who qualified for an interview will be contacted individually. The interview time slot will be coordinated with the applicants’ schedule.)

- Member Orientation: 9/12 (Sat) *Attendance Mandatory*

(Please note that the date of the orientation has been changed from Saturday, September 5th to Saturday, September 12)

7. Fee

Free! :)

All GALF sessions are run through the sponsorship of East Asia Foundation.

Other activities apart from our scheduled regular sessions will be charged individually.

8. Notes

- All sessions are run in English.

- Upon completion, a Certificate of Activity and Membership will be issued to each member.

- The official certificate will be only be issued to the members who attended all sessions; any member who does not qualify for the conditions will receive a statement of participation without the official stamp of East Asia Foundation.)

- Attendance is really important, so we are looking for people who are eager to participate with passion.
