소개: GALF는 동아시아재단 산하의 학생학술교류단체로, “아시아의 관점으로 세계를 바라보다”는 모토 하에 아시아 또는 국제적 정치외교 현안에 대한 발표, 토론, 합동 포럼 등의 여러 활동을 진행하고 있습니다. 여러 국적의 외국인 학생들과 같이 소통하며 보다 폭넓은 관점과 사고 확립을 지향합니다.

2. 모집 대상: 동아시아 관련 외교 및 국제이슈에 관심이 많고 정기적인 세션에 참여할 수 있는 학부생, 휴학생, 대학원생, 교환학생, 외국인학생 등

3. 활동 기간: 9월 중순~12월 초, 격주 토요일 오후 1시~4시 (시험기간 제외)

*코로나19로 인해 모든 세션을 온라인으로(ZOOM 사용) 진행할 예정입니다.

4. 활동 내용:

- Regular session : 동아시아의 정치, 경제, 안보, 미디어,환경 등의 주제로 발제 및 그룹 토의 진행

- Open Session : 국내 저명한 연사들을 초빙하여 강연을 듣고, 아시아 정세를 바라보는 시각을 넓힐 기회 제공

- Field Trip : 한중일 3국 또는 아시아의 여러 주제와 관련된 장소를 직접 방문하고 체험

*코로나 19 상황을 봐서 5인미만 소모임으로 대체

*코로나19로 인해 field trip은 5인 미만 소모임으로 대체할 가능성이 크며, 소모임 스케줄은 OT때 공지합니다.

8. 참가 비용:

없습니다.

모든 GALF 정규 세션은 기본적으로 동아시아재단으로부터 후원 비용으로 운영됩니다.

소규모 field trip비용은 일부 지원합니다.

-코로나19로 인해 2021-2학기 GALF의 모든 세션들은 온라인으로 진행될 예정입니다.

-활동 수료 시, 활동증명서 및 수료증을 발급해 드립니다.

17th Global Asia Leadership Forum (GALF)-

Recruiting members for the 2nd semester of 2021!

1. Introduction

Sponsored by the East Asia Foundation, GALF is a student academic exchange club that organizes biweekly presentations, discussions, or joint forums on Asian or international political and economic affairs under the motto of “Looking at the globe through Asian perspective”. Through participating in GALF, students can widen their perspectives by interacting with other students from different backgrounds.

2. Membership is open to…

Undergraduate/graduate students, exchange students, and international students interested in East Asian diplomatic affairs who are able to attend biweekly regular sessions!

3. Duration: September ~December 2021.

Orientation is on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, after which there will be regular sessions every two Saturdays (excluding midterm/final exam period). 13:00-16:00.

*Due to COVID-19 all sessions will be conducted on ZOOM.

4. Activities

Regular session : Group presentation and discussion on Asia’s political, economic, and security issues

Open session : Lectures from distinguished speakers and a Q&A session for expert opinions and wider views

Field trip : Subject to change due to COVID-19. The executive are arranging field trips with max 4 people in each group, to various historical and geographical places in Korea.

*Field trip schedules will be announced on the day of the OT.

6. Selection Process

Application Form Submission: By 23:59 2nd of September, 2021

Interview: Online interview using ZOOM. (September 5th) 12:00-17:00 (group

interviews, 30 mins slot).

Applicants eligible for the interview will be notified through email on the 3rd of September.

*Due to COVID-19, all interviews will be conducted online through ZOOM. Please check the available method/time in the application form. Those who qualified for an interview will be contacted individually no later than September 1st. The interview time slot will be coordinated with the applicants’ schedule.

7. Fee

None. All GALF sessions are run through the sponsorship of East Asia Foundation.

Other activities apart from our scheduled regular sessions will be charged individually. Field trips will be partially funded.

8. Notes

All sessions are run in English.

Upon completion, a Certificate of Activity and Membership will be issued to each member. The official certificate will only be issued to the members who attended all sessions.

Attendance is really important, so we are looking for people who are eager to participate with passion!
