Model UNSF Participant Application is Now Open

Greetings from Model UNSF!

Model United Nations Strategic Framework is currently recruiting participants from all over the world for the upcoming online conference in January. The application is due midnight of December 24th, Korean Standard Time. 

WHAT IS Model UNSF?

The Model United Nations Strategic Framework Conference 2022 (Model UNSF) is organized by the human rights advocacy group People for Successful COrean* REunification (PSCORE)** based in Seoul, South Korea. Model UNSF ultimately targets those who are currently enrolled in universities, international organizations, institutions, or companies to discuss issues surrounding North Korea in reference to the Sustainable Development Goals.✊

WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE POSITIONS?

The participants will be attending as either the Resident Coordinator - the moderator of the discussion - or the Delegate in the discussion group called the Strategic Focus group of their choice. There are 4 Focus groups in total with the following topics: 1) Food and Nutrition Security, 2) Social Development Services, 3) Resilience and Sustainability, and 4) Data and Human Rights Development. Each group will consist of one Resident Coordinator, one Delegate each from North and South Korea, and one Delegate each from 6 UN institutions - WHO, WFP, FAO, UNICEF, UNDP, and UNFPA. In total, there will be 36 participants, with 9 people in each Focus group. The role will be distributed according to the applicant’s preference. 

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO BE THE PARTICIPANT?

Anyone over 18 years of age and are interested in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in North Korea are welcome to apply. Model UNSF is set on a time frame that makes participation possible from various time zones. Both the conference and the orientations will be held fully online.
