Application Engineer Intern, Power Delivery

NXP’s Highly Profitable Product Line Power Delivery, part of Business Line Advanced Power Solutions is seeking for an engineering intern to join our applications engineering team. As an intern of this team, you will working on the leading edge innovative technologies and engage directly with the most visible and successful mobile and computing companies. You will be a contributor to the development, evaluation and support of USB protection and Fast Charging products targeting Mobile, Industrial and Automotive markets.

Responsibilities

Provide applications support for USB Protection Power Switches and Fast Charging products.

- Answer customer questions and support design-in activities for released products

- Review schematics and PCB layout

- Debug customer problems by re-creating issues on our evaluation boards and/or customer boards

Assist in developing high-quality and easy-to-use internal evaluation boards

Perform bench testing for new silicon products.

Create user guides, test procedures, application notes and other technical documentation

Partner with the product definer and share experiences gained through customer support to improve new product definition for USB Protection and Fast Charging products.

Collaborate the Customer Application Support/ Field Applications Engineer team to become the system level expert for customers’ applications.

Perform competition comparison analysis and support new design in activities

Preferred Qualifications

- Good understanding of power management products, such as linear regulators, DC-DC converters (buck, boost, buck-boost), battery chargers, and board component selection.

- Experienced with various lab equipment such as scopes, power supplies, source meters and loads

- Experienced in schematics, layout and PCB development

- Experience on circuit testing and trouble shooting in lab environment

- Strong problem solving and debugging skills.

- Good communication and presentation skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Team player with the “can-do attitude”
